Be In Control
In automobiles power steering is a device that helps drivers steer by augmenting steering effort of the steering wheel.
Hydraulic or electric actuators add controlled energy to the steering mechanism, so the driver can provide less effort to turn the steered wheels when driving at typical speeds, and reduce considerably the physical effort necessary to turn the wheels when a vehicle is stopped or moving slowly. Power steering can also be engineered to provide some artificial feedback of forces acting on the steered wheels.
Hydraulic power steering systems for cars augment steering effort via an actuator, a hydraulic cylinder that is part of a servo system. These systems have a direct mechanical connection between the steering wheel and the linkage that steers the wheels. This means that power-steering system failure (to augment effort) still permits the vehicle to be steered using manual effort alone.
Electric power steering systems use electric motors to provide the assistance instead of hydraulic systems. As with hydraulic types, power to the actuator (motor, in this case) is controlled by the rest of the power-steering system.

A timing belt, timing chain, or cambelt is a part of an internal combustion engine that synchronizes the rotation of the crankshaft and the camshaft(s) so that the engine's valves open and close at the proper times during each cylinder's intake and exhaust strokes. In an interference engine the timing belt or chain is also critical to preventing the piston from striking the valves. A timing belt is usually a toothed belt—a drive belt with teeth on the inside surface. A timing chain is a roller chain.
Cosworth BDR engine, with timing belt and pulleys
Many modern production automobile engines use a timing belt[i] to synchronize crankshaft and camshaft rotation; some engines, particularly cam in block designs, used gears to drive the camshaft, but this was rare for OHC designs. The use of a timing belt or chain instead of gear drive enables engine designers to place the camshaft(s) further from the crankshaft, and in engines with multiple camshafts a timing belt or chain also enables the camshafts to be placed further from each other. Timing chains were common on production automobiles through the 1970s and 1980s, when timing belts became the norm, but timing chains have seen a resurgence in recent years. Timing chains are generally more durable than timing belts—though neither is as durable as gear drive—however, timing belts are lighter, less expensive, and operate more quietly.
Smooth shifting on manual transmissions
What is a clutch?
The clutch disc is a friction disc that is squeezed between the clutch pressure plate and the flywheel when the clutch is engaged. This allows the power (torque) from the engine to be transmitted to the manual transmission. The disc is made of a similar material to brake pads; it eventually wears out and needs to be replaced. At Kinnezsys Auto Repair we can Repair A failed clutch that could either slip, shudder, or be unusually difficult to depress. Changing gears may become more difficult. The engine will "rev" but speed will not increase or the vehicle may not move
